Major League Success. Great news from across the pond for all you Becks-lovers! That’s right, the Los Angeles Galaxy have qualified for the finals of the national soccer tournament, defeating Salt Lake 3-1 in the semis, thanks to some trademark great plays from international David Beckham, hailing from London, England. In the finals though they come up against strong opposition in the Houston Dynamo, a team who have got 3 MLS cups to their name in the last 5 years, and have a deafeningly strong offensive side. This could go either way. It’s the last year of Goldenballs’ contract, and he’s hoping to finally bring home the gold before he goes on another adventure somewhere. Yes, this is real life.

Celtic go clear, Rangers fail to win. A switch to early kicks off did nothing to dampen the Jose Mourinho led Celtic juggernaut yesterday, as the bashed Osasuna 7-1 at home, thanks to a hat trick from Cristiano ‘Ronaldo’ Ronaldo, who took his Celtic goal talley to 48971 goals in a year. Rangers however had to come from behind twice to draw 2-2 at Athletic Bilbao, leaving Celtic 3 points clear at the top of La Liga. That’s all I’ve got. There are other teams in La Liga? Really? Nah mate.

Just look at his face! International Football Manager smiley hero Jozy Altidore scored for AZ Alkmaar yesterday, as they beat Raymond van Barneveld supported Den Haag 3-0 to go 6 points clear at the top of the Eredivise. Ajax lost an astonishing game 6-4 to Utrecht to slip further behind. Twente are in 2nd after a whooping 4-0 win against someone, I can’t remember, was it Dordrecht? Whoever it was, they are obviously cack.

France. All of the top teams dropped points in Ligue 1 this weekend, with PSG and Montpellier drawing, and Lyon losing 2-1 to Sochaux. I love Ligue 1.

Running Cercles around the leaders. My Belgian side, Cercle Brugge, handed Anderlecht their first defeat in 8 games yesterday to go second in the table. Former Liverpool man (don’t say flop) Milan Jovanovic was sent off for Anderlecht in the first half, which made life a little tough for Walter Reynders’ boys. Hey Walter! Elsewhere, Standard Liege beat struggling Club Brugge 2-1, with Steve McLaren linked with that job. He’d be a good pick.

Italy? Does anyone still care about Serie A? Udinese are top of Serie A on goal difference ahead of Lazio, but I’m not really sure if anyone still cares about this league.

Here’s a cracking goal to leave you, from Benjamin de Cuelear of Belgian side Lokeren, scored back in September. Great stuff.
